Hi, I’m Jesmond

I’m a design leader, human-centred design consultant and design researcher specialising in health and care.

With more than 25 years’ experience, I quickly identify where design can make the biggest difference and help teams turn insight into action.

I’ve worked with public health organisations, charities and startups to design products and services that work better for the people who use them and the teams who deliver them. Whether you need help planning or delivering the work, I'm equally comfortable shaping strategy and working hands-on with teams to put it into practice.

My approach

I create useful, usable and used products and services by:

  • Understanding real service-user and clinician needs via design research

  • Employing systems thinking to see the whole service, not just the interface

  • Using co-design to involve end-users in innovation and development

  • Practicing iterative design to continually test and learn

  • Collaborating closely with teams, clinicians and stakeholders

  • Helping organisations define realistic, evidence-based programmes to deliver meaningful change
